While traditional palette knives are straight like a big butter knife, and used primarily for mixing paint, painting knives have a bend above the blade to keep the painter’s knuckles from smearing the painted surface as they work. Knife blades can be made of metal or plastic and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Materials for students to bring:
Acrylic paint
Small painting knife
1 Canvas sized from 14” x 14” to 16” x 20”
Pencils and paint brushes
Christine’s class series will show how to use the painting knife to create texture and flow of paint, resulting in exciting combinations of color and adding an extra dimension to your work.
